Beautiful picturesque location

My boyfriend and I had an amazing time at Rowan Lodge. Hosts were friendly, welcoming and very helpful. Such a beautiful and pituresque location. The interior was well equipped with lovely features such as the log burning fire. Definitely recommend it...perfect for a relaxing county-side getaway!

Beautiful setting

From the moment we arrived, we felt very welcome at Rowan Lodge. Penny met us on arrival, and showed us around. It was my husband's birthday, and we arrived to a birthday card, bottle of prosecco, and a lovely picnic basket containing scones, clotted cream, jam and fresh eggs-who could ask for more? The setting is beautiful, very tranquil, just the escape we needed. We look forward to visiting again in the future.

Ideal Location

Rowan Lodge was an ideal location and we enjoyed a relaxed stay. We visited for a couple of nights and stayed for a local family wedding. We were welcomed and shown around the lodge by Penelope's daughter, Fern. The lodge was cosy yet spacious and had everything we could possibly need - a lovely touch having fresh flowers on the table, too! The lodge is tucked away in a very peaceful, rural and picturesque location. I would highly recommend a stay at Rowan Lodge for anyone considering it. Penelope's communication was quick, easy and the directions provided to the property made our journey there hassle-free and straightforward. Many thanks for a lovely stay!

Great romantic break

I booked Rowan Lodge for myself and my partner as a last minute romantic break away. The directions were spot on and we were instantly impressed at the beauty of the private drive that went down through woodland to the lodge. We were stunned by the views when we stood on the decking and we ended up spending our first evening sitting on the sofas with a glass of wine! Penny and her daughter Fern met us and were very polite and welcoming and helped us in with our bags. The lodge itself was absolutely spotless and it was warm and welcoming with the log burner already made up for us to light. In the lodge there is a folder full of all of the things to do around the area and all of the menus for the best local restaurants were also available. We recommend The Unicorn in Ludlow - we had a beautiful meal there! On the first day we took a trip to Berrington Hall (national trust property) and we were blown away by the lovely gardens and the history of the castle, definitely a must see if you're in the area! On the last day we walked around the woodland near the lodge and found old lime kilns hidden beneath the trees - it was a once in a lifetime experience to see something like that and it was a real eye opener for us for two city people. All in all we had such a fantastic stay and have already planned our second trip as there is still so much more to see and do. If you're looking for a tranquil escape or a romantic break away then this is the place! Thank you Penny for a lovely stay.

A Great! place to run when life gets a bit too much

The sales copy was wrong. It should have read ... "the most snug, peaceful and cosy hide-away in Shropshire" I refuse to say more because we don't want everyone else going there enabling it to be available for us next time ! Simple, comfortable, clean and "exactly" what is needed if you want a peaceful and cosy couple of days away from it all. The family were helpful and the views... awesome. Made good friends with the pheasants and rabbits and have connected with them on (SENSITIVE CONTENTS HIDDEN) to stay in touch until next time. A GREAT place to run to when life gets a bit too much.
